Houston Banking Wire

The voice of Houston’s banking community

About

The voice of Houston’s banking community.

Houston Banking Wire is an independent editorial publication covering the people and institutions that shape Houston’s financial community. We profile the CEOs, lenders, risk officers, financiers, and rising talent who move money, build relationships, and make decisions that matter across the Energy Capital of the World.

We are not affiliated with any bank, financial institution, industry association, or trade publication. We accept no payment for profiles or editorial placement. Our only interest is in telling the story of Houston banking as it actually is.

How It Works

Coverage is organized into themed installments, each focused on a specific segment of Houston’s banking landscape. We have covered the institution builders, the lending leaders, the credit and risk officers, the CFOs, and the next generation coming up behind them. Each installment is researched independently and published when it’s ready.

Profiles are based on publicly available information, industry reputation, and community input. We verify titles, institutions, and professional records before publication. If we get something wrong, we want to hear about it.

Why Anonymous

The editorial team is intentionally anonymous. Houston’s banking community is small and interconnected. We believe the coverage is more credible when it isn’t shaped by relationships, social obligations, or the need to protect access. Sources speak more freely. Editorial judgments are made on the merits.

Anonymity is not a gimmick — it is a design choice made in service of better journalism.

The Forum

Beyond the editorial content, Houston Banking Wire hosts a pseudonymous community forum for Houston banking professionals. Members post under handles, not real names. The forum covers deal talk, career moves, industry news, and the kinds of conversations that happen at lunch but not on LinkedIn.
